Clearwire Rolls Out In Atlanta
Clearwire, the wireless Internet service started by Craig McCaw, and which is deploying a nationwide network using the WiMax wireless networking standard, said today that it has launched its service in Atlanta. The firm, through its Clearwire Communications operating subsidiary, said that it now offers coverage across approximately 1,200 square miles, serving nearly three million people. The firm claimed its is the largest 4G, WiMax wireless broadband network in the United States. Clearwire said its CLEAR wireless service will start at $20 per month for home Internet, and $40 per month for mobile Internet plans, with day passes available for $10.
