Cardiac Sciences Shuffles Board

Bothell, Wash.-based biopharmaceutical firm Cardiac Science Corp. reported Tuesday that it has appointed a new board member and accepted the resignation of two others. The company said the changes, which will leave the board with seven directors, occurred last week during a regularly scheduled meeting. Cardiac Science said its newest director is Christopher J. Davis, who is senior managing director, chief operating officer and chief financial officer for Perseus LLC, one of Cardiac Science's largest investors. Cardiac Science identified the former directors as Jeffrey F. O'Donnell and Ray E. Newton III. Their resignations were not the result of a falling out, the company said, noting that O'Donnell left to concentrate on his duties as PhotoMedex’s CEO, while Newton had served at Perseus' request but is no longer with that company.
