Cocrystal Discovery Raises $10M For Anti-Viral Drugs
Seattle-based Cocrystal Discovery said Friday that it has raised $10M in a private placement, led by The Frost Group. The firm said the funding will go towards discovery and development of novel antiviral therapeutics for the treatment of serious and chronic viral diseases. According to Cocrystal, its is initially focusing on treatment of hepatitis and influenza. The firm was founded by Gary Wilcox, Ph.D., formerly of Icos Corporation; Roger Kornberg, Ph.D. of Stanford University and Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry in 2006; and Sam Lee, also of Icos Corporation.
