SNAPin Acquired By Nuance Communications
Bellevue-based SNAPin, a developer of mobile device software, has been acquired by Burlington, Mass.-based Nuance Communications. Nuance said Tuesday that it will pay approximately $180M in Nuance common stock for SNAPin, as well as additional earn-out. SNAPin's software is being used by mobile carriers to resolve common diagnostic and repair, configuration and other issues. Nuance said the acquisition will add $29M to $32M in non-GAAP revenue for 2009. SNAPin was venture backed by Frazier Technology Ventures, Hunt Ventures, Oak Investment Partners, and Trilogy Partners.
