Cequint Buys Patent From LSI
Seattle-based Cequint, a provider of caller identification technology for the wireless industry, said Wednesday that it has purchased a caller ID patent from LSI. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to Cequint, the patent, which was originally developed by Lucent in 1997, covers providing location information on a device for enhancing caller identification. LSI purchased Agere in 2006; Agere was a spinoff of Lucent. Cequint is venture backed by iSherpa Capital and Benaroya Companies, among others.
