Tyfone Gets Patent

Portland-based Tyfone, a provider of mobile payment technology, said today that it has received a new patent. The firm said the U.S. patent, number 7,954,717 was issued June 7th, and covers near field communications (NFC) technology developed by the company. According to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the patent's inventors are Siva G. Narenda, Prabhakar Tadepalli, and Thonas N. Spitzer. The firm said the patent was originally filed on February 22, 2005. Tyfone was represented by LeMoine Patent Services in the filing.
