Amazon's IMDB Acquires Withoutabox

The Internet Movie Database, a subsidiary of Amazon.com, said Thursday that it has acquired Withoutabox, a provider of an online service for independent filmmakers and artists. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Withoutabox, which is based in Los Angeles, provides an online site for independent filmmakers to manage their film distribution, including submission of their films to film festivals and promotion of their film titles. IMDB said that Withoutabox will continue to function as a stand-alone operation based in Los Angeles.
