thePlatform Signs Gannett

Seattle-based thePlatform, a publisher of broadband video for content providers and other media outlets, reported Tuesday that newspaper-publishing firm Gannett Co. Inc. has selected thePlatform’s white-label service as the back-end management system its online video content. The financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. Gannett operates the nation's largest-selling daily newspaper, USA TODAY, and more than 150 newspaper, television and Web properties around the world. ThePlatform said it will function as a central storage and distribution hub for Gannett's video assets, a role that includes syndicating video content among Gannett’s various Web sites.
