Zillow Inks Strategic Deal with Newspaper Group
Real estate listings Web site Zillow.com reported Tuesday that it has signed a strategic partnership with 11 newspaper publishing companies. The Seattle-based business explained that the group, which represents 282 newspapers across the country, will feed Zillow its local real estate classified advertisements, which will then be run as for-sale and open-house listings on Zillow's online platform. Zillow said local advertisers who place their print and online listings with the newspapers will have the option of deciding whether they wish to have those listings displayed on Zillow. Zillow added that the publishing consortium so far consists of Hearst Newspapers, Journal Register Co., Lee Enterprises Inc., Media General Inc., MediaNews Group Inc., Morris Communications Co. LLC, Paddock Publications, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, The E.W. Scripps Co., Times-Shamrock Communications and The Day Publishing Co.
