Air Force Awards $3.2M Contract to Microvision

Microvision Inc., a manufacturer of light-based scanners and displays, has won a $3.2 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to provide the Armed Forces branch with an eyewear display prototype. Microvision said its new contract specifies it will design and test a lightweight, see-through, full-color, wearable display and deliver it in time for evaluation by several Defense Department project offices. Microvision said the prototype will incorporate the company's proprietary, ultra-thin optical assembly and its tiny laser projection engine, PicoP. Microvision is headquartered in Redmond, Washington.
