Digimarc Gets Patent

Beaverton, Oregon-based Digimarc said Thursday that the firm has received a patent on the firm's solution for identifying digitally watermarked music, images, or movies. the patent, U.S. Patent No. 7,171,016, was granted January 30th, and was entitled "Method for monitoring internet dissemination of image, video and/or audio files". Geoffrey B. Rhoads is named as the inventor on the patent, which was originally filed in November of 1998.
