Digimarc Adds Music ID

Beaverton, Oregon-based Digimarc, which develops digital identification and watermarking software, said Thursday that it has expanded its products to handle music identification. Digimarc said its Digimarc Discovery Platform is now able to identify digital watermarks in music, as well as provide music recognition capabilities from microphones. Digimarc said the audio recognition comes via Gracenote's MusicID audio recognition technology. The deal between the companies was not disclosed. Digimarc said the capabilities are available on iTunes and Android.
