Rentrak Buys Hollywood Software

Portland-based media measurement provider Rentrak is expanding into the digital film distribution business, and has acquired Hollywood Software, Inc. (HSI), a provider of enterprise software for managing digital movie distribution. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Hollywood Software is based in Los Angeles, and includes such clients as 20th Century Fox, Universal Pictures and Lionsgate. Rentrak said the deal helps it add highly valuable movie analytic tools to its offerings.
