Hiya Secures $18M To Shut Down Phone Spam

Seattle-based Hiya, a startup developing technology to battle unwanted phone calls to your mobile phone, has raised $18M in a funding round, the company said today. The company, started by startup veteran Alex Algard, said the funding was led by Balderton Capital. Balderton's Lars Fjeldsoe-Nielsen joins the company's board with the funding. Algard previously founded Whitepages.
