Hiya Spins Out Of Whitepages

Seattle-based Hiya has spun out of Whitepages, to offer up enhanced caller ID to mobile users. According to the new company--which previously was Whitepages Caller ID--it will help provide smartphone users with information on the source of both callers and textx. The new company will be led by Alex Algard. The company said its apps will offer up call and text identification, real time spam and spam scam detection, call blocking, and more. The company's Chief Operating Officer will be Stanley Kim. The app is currently only available for Android.
