AskMe Acquired By Tokyo Firm
Enterprise management software publisher AskMe Corp. announced Thursday that it has been acquired by Japanese software developer REALCOM Inc. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Headquartered in Tokyo, REALCOM is listed and publicly traded on the Tokyo Mothers stock exchange. The company provides knowledge management applications for many leading Japanese companies, including NEC, Sony, Honda and NIT Software. Based in Bellevue, Wash., AskMe said it will remain in the Seattle area, operating as a REALCOM subsidiary. AskMe added that Udai Shekawat, the company's co-founder and former chief executive officer, will assume the role of chief operating officer of REALCOM's US operations.
