Viewpoint Acquired By Trimble For $1.2 Billion

Portland-based construction management software developer Viewpoint has been acquired for $1.2 billion by Silicon Valley-based Trimble, the two companies said on Monday afternoon. Viewpoint had been owned by private equity firm Bain Capital. According to Trimble, Viewpoint will be "highly complementary" to its e-Builder business, and helps extend ability to provide more complete and integrated project, jobsite and business workflows to the construction industry.
