Uptake Medical Names VP

Seattle-based Uptake Medical, a developer of treatments for emphysema, said today that it has named Dr. Steven Kesten as its Vice President and Chief Medical Officer. Uptake said that Dr. Kesten has previously served at Boehringer Ingelheim, and was most recently that firm's VP, Medicine for that company's products aimed at respiratory disease. Kesten has also served at Toronto General Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital, among other firms. Uptake Medical is developing a minimally invasive catheter used to deliver vapor to emphysema patients, which helps them improve their breathing.
