Amazon Wants The Keys To Your Car, For Deliveries
Amazon.com has the keys to your house--and now it wants the keys to your car, too. But, don't worry--the e-commerce giant says it is only using that access to your vehicle to enable its Prime members to receive a much more secure delivery of their goods, delivered right to their own vehicle. According to Amazon, its new service will provide secure package delivery to your vehicle at an address near your home, work, or other locations in your address book--and allows users to track deliveries. For now, the service will only work with 2015 model year or newer Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac, and Volvo vehicles, which have an acive OnStar account. Amazon is already offering up delivery of packages to the inside of its members' homes, in its battle against theft of deliveries from doorsteps.
