FLIR Backs Drone Software Maker DroneSense

Wilsonville, Oregon-based FLIR Systems has made an investment in DroneSense a developer of drone software for the public safety market, the two companies said this week. Size of the investment was not announced. DroneSense, based in Austin, Texas, is developing software to help manage unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) which incorporate sensors such as FLIR's thermal imaging sensors. DroneSense's software helps manage everything from logging flight hours and tracking missions, to remote drone flight and other software.
