Flir Powers Infrared Camera For Drones

In what is the first, infrared camera for a commercial drone to hit the market, Wilsonville, Oregon-based Flir has developed an infrared camera for drones from DJI, which was launched by DJI on Thursday. The new DJI Zenmuse XT allows drone operators to spot people and vehicles in the dark; measure the heat and temperature of objects; and much more. DJI said its new Zenmuse offers up 640/30 fps or 336/60 fps depending on the camera model, with 50mK, high sensitivity infrared capability. Infrared cameras are what typically have been used by military and police headquarters to locate fugitives hiding in the dark, and for more innocuous uses like finding heat leaking out of poorly insulated buildings.
