Zillow's Rascoff Backs Beauty Startup

Spencer Rascoff, the CEO of Zillow is one of the angel investors in a new startup, Beauty By Design, a company offering up "hyper-personalized" beauty products based on a customer's skin. Beauty By Design said this morning that it raised $2.2M in a seed funding round, led by Resolute Ventures, and also included Ludlow Ventures, TenoneTen Ventures, and Troy Capital Partners, plus angels Rascoff, Terry Boyle (NordstromRack.com, HauteLook), and Rob Chesney (former COO, Trunk Club). According to the company, it uses a consumer's skin data to help them find and buy exactly matched skincare products, using a user's smartphone, computer vision technology, and a user's selfie.
