Kymeta In Satellite Antenna Demonstration In Asia

Redmond-based satellite technology developer Kymeta says it has demonstrated its technology in Asia, with Sky Perfect JSAT Corporation (SJC), in its first Asia-based satellite connectivity deployment of its technology. Kymeta and Sky Perfect JSAT said they deployed Kymeta's flat panels as part of a demonstration for first responders in Japan, using those electronically steered antennas embedded between the roof and the headliner of a Toyota Land Cruiser. Kymeta's technology dramatically shrinks the size, and reduces the mechanical complexity of existing satellite antennas through its use of "metamaterials" for electronic steering of satellite antennas.
