Amazon's Alexa Fund Backs TrackR
The Amazon Alexa Fund, the venture capital fund run by Amazon.com that invests in Alexa-related startups, is one of the backers in a new funding round for TrackR. TrackR, based in Santa Barbara, California, said on Wednesday that it had raised $50M in a Series B funding, which was led by Revolution Growth, and also included Amazon Alexa Fund, Foundry Group, NTT DOCOMO Ventures, The Glenmede Trust, and Bespoke Strategies. The company makes Bluetooth-Low-Energy (BLE) devices that users can attach to their keys, put in their purse or wallet, or attach to other items, which can then be tracked using their smartphone. TrackR's products already integrate with Amazon Alexa to allow users to find their phone using Amazon's device. More information »
