Spin Scores $8M As It Expands Bike Sharing In Seattle
Spin, a startup which has been ramping up its bike sharing service in Seattle, said on Thursday that it has raised $8M in a Series A funding round. The funding was led by Grishin Robotics, and also included Exponent, CRCM, as well as Charlie Cheever (co-founder, Quora) and Matt Brezina (Dropbox). The San Francisco area startup recently launched an effort in Seattle called the 'Spin Cities Project' which will fund local bike safety and infrastructure projects. Spin is just one of several companies trying to ramp up bike sharing in Seattle, including Bluegogo and Limebike.
