FlowPlay Donates $60,000 For STEM Lab

Seattle-based casual games developer FlowPlay said Thursday that it has donated $60,000 to construct a new STEM Lab at the Technology Access Foundation (TAF) Academy. According to FlowPlay, the donation is part of its 10-year anniversary celebration. The company said the student body at TAF is nearly 70 percent mintority, with half qualifying for Free and Reduced (FRE) meals. The new lab is aimed at helping students prepare for college and life through STEM curriculum, according to FlowPlay. The new Lighthouse Design & Engineering Lab will be outfitted with a 3D printer, laser cutter, microscopes for DNA barcoding, video production tools, carpentry tools and more, according to TAF. FlowPlay is led by CEO Derrick Morton.
