Remitly Expands Across Central, South America
Seattle-based mobile remittance app developer Remitly announced this afternoon that it has expanded its mobile money transfer service across Latin America, adding another seven countries in Central and South America. The startup, led by CEO Matt Oppenheimer, says it has added Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru to its service. The company is aiming at reducing the cost of sending money across borders, which typically has been very expensive. The company has been running in Mexico now for a year.
