KITT.AI Links With Amazon Alexa

Seattle-based KITT.AI, the artificial intelligence startup which is backed by the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence, the Amazon Alexa Fund, Founders' Co-op and Madrona Venture Group, said today that it has teamed up with Amazon to power new, voice-controlled products. According to KITT.AI, it has made a free software product available via Github, which can recognize the phrase "Alexa", to wake up devices running on the Raspberry Pi. KITT.AI says the new software uses its Snowboy hotword detection engine, which is available both in a "free" version for developers working on personal projects--but which is licensed to commercial businesses.
