Eddie Bauer Hit By Major Malware Breach
Bellevue-based retailer Eddie Bauer said late Thursday afternoon that it has been hit by a major malware intrusion, which enabled unauthorized parties to gain access to payment card information at its bricks and mortar stores. Eddie Bauer said the malware--which did not affect its online customers--resulted in loss of payment information at retail stores between January 2nd, 2016, and July 17, 2016. Eddie Bauer said the malware was inserted into the point-of-sale systems at its stores. Eddie Bauer said it will offer up identity protection services to all of its customers who made purchases or returns during that period.
