SplashCast Catches Surf With Quiksilver
Portland, Oregon-based SplashCast, a provider of social content syndication software, said Thursday that it has inked a deal with surfwear maker Quiksilver, to provide a embeddable video syndication service for Quiksilver. According to SplashCash, the firm has launched The Quicksilver in Memory of Eddie Aikau "micro-channel" which will allow users to share and view surfing videos. "The Eddie" is a major big-wave surf event--which pits surfers of 20-foot+ waves--on Oahu, Hawaii's North Shore. The videos will feature live conditions at Waimea Bay, the location of the event, profiles of competitors, and other information. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed.
