Amazon Shows Off Prime Air Branded Planes
Seattle-based Amazon.com has shown of its first, Amazon-branded airplanes--courtesy air transport contractor Atlas Air, which has painted one of its planes as Amazon's "Prime Air". Amazon showed off the plane in a hangar at an event in Seattle on Thursday, saying that it is already flying eleven, dedicated cargo craft around the world to keep its Amazon Prime business moving. Amazon has deals with two different air cargo carriers, Atlas Air and Air Transport Services Group, to help it shuffle its goods between different markets. Amazon said the new plane -- called "Amazon One" -- is one of 40 it has agreed to lease through those two partners.
