Amazon: Prime Day Biggest Ever

Amazon said this morning that its Amazon Prime Day, held Tuesday, was its biggest ever for selling Amazon devices. The company--which did not details exact volumes--said that it set records for each Amazon device category, including Fire TV, Fire tablets, Kindle e-readers and Alexa-enabled devices. The company said it sold over 2.5x more Amazon Fire TV devices this year than last year, with the Fire TV Stick the most popular device out of its devices. Amazon said that the orders yesterday surpassed its 2015 Prime Day numbers by 60% worldwide and 50% in the U.S. Other popular items included 90,000 TVs, two million toys, and one million pairs of shoes, according to the company.
