Microsoft Buys LinkedIn For $26.2 Billion
Redmond-based Microsoft announced this morning that it is acquiring LinkedIn in a deal worth $26.2 billion in cash. Microsoft and LinkedIn said that Microsoft will pay $196 per share in cash for LinkedIn, which will continue to be run by current CEO Jeff Weiner. The deal is being supporter by majority owner and founder Reid Hoffman, who called the acquisition a "re-founding moment".
