Insitu Adds New Marine Sensor Payload
Bingen, Washington-based unmanned aircraft maker Insitu said this week that it has added a new, marine sensor, which has been developed by Hood River-based Hood Technologies. According to Insitu, the new sensor--developed in Australia by Sentient Vision Systems--is aimed at allowing its aircraft to detect objects in the ocean. The sensor apparently allows for detection of everything from fishing vessels, fast boats, and even the spout of a whale.
