SolarWorld Expands Into Energy Storage

Hillsboro, Oregon-based solar panel manufacturer SolarWorld said today that it is expanding into the energy storage sector, with a new partnership with sonnen. Financial details of the partnership were not announced. SolarWorld said it hopes to sell a storage option as part of complete energy-management systems. sonnen develops the sonnenBatterie, a product which uses LiFePO4 batteries to supply from 4kWH to 16kWH of energy to homes.
