Automic Lands OpenStack Co-Founder

Seattle-based business automation software developer Automic has landed the co-founder of OpenStack, John Purrier, as its new Chief Technology Officer. Automatic, whose software is used in DevOps automation, said that Purrier will help shape its technology strategy. Purrier most recently CTO of CenturyLink Innovation, and also served at AppFog, Rackspace Cloud, HP, and Microsoft. Purrier's claim to fame is as one of the highest profile evangelists for OpenStack when he was at HP. OpenStack is the open source software which has been adopted by the industry as an alternative to closed cloud systems like Amazon Web Services.
