Amazon Launches Screenwriting Tool

Seattle-based Amazon.com said Thursday that it has launched a new, cloud-based screenwriting tool, to help writers create movie and TV screenplays. The new tool--which comes as part of Amazon's content effort, Amazon Studios--is free for writers. Amazon said the new tool handles all of the formatting of scripts for screenwriters, and lets users store those scripts in the cloud. The company says it hopes the tool will help it get better access to new talent.
