Picobrew Launches New, $499 Craft Beer Making Machine
Seattle-based PicoBrew, the startup which makes a device to let anyone brew their own craft beer at home, is aiming to bring down the cost of its equipment through a new Kickstarter campaign for a new, $499 device called the Pico. The company, which already makes the PicoBrew Zymatic beer making machine, is looking to dramatically cut the costs for its beer brewing devices, which currently cost a hefty $1999. The company's existing machines take pre-packaged ingredients and brew grain and mini-mash brewing of a wide range of beer recipes. The new Pico focuses on brewing recipes created by specific, craft breweries. The company already is halfway past its $200,000 goal for its campaign this morning, with $124,230 pledged by backers so far.
