Kymeta Partners With Sharp In Antenna Manufacturing Deal

Redmond-based satellite antenna developer Kymeta and SHARP Corporation said Tuesday that the two are in a manufacturing deal, where SHARP will use its liquid crystal display production technology to manufacture Kymeta's flat-panel satellite antennas. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The two explained that Kymeta's antennas use liquid crystal-based metamaterials for its lightweight, software-steerable antennas. Kymeta's antennas can apparently be producted on Sharp's existing, TV display productoin lines. Kymeta is led by Dr. Nathan Kundtz.
