Planar Systems Acquired By Leyard Optoelectronic

Beaverton, Oregon-based PLanar Systems, which develops display and digital signage technology, said Wednesday afternoon that it has agreed to be acquired by Leyard Optoelectronic Co., Ltd.. Pllanar said that Leyard will pay $6.58 per share, or approximately $156.8M, for Planar. Leyard Optoelectronic Co., Ltd is based in Beijing, China. The two said the deal will expand Leyard's existing range of LED display products, and enable Leyard to expand outside China.
