Urbanspoon Is No More: Zomato Chops Seattle Engineers

Online restaurant rating and reservation service Urbanspoon--once, one of Seattle's high profile consumer Internet startups--has been erased from Seattle's technology scene, for good, after acquirer Zomato has laid off the rest of Urbanspoon's engineering team here in Seattle. Zomato acquired Urbanspoon back in January for around $60M. Zomato is apparently consolidating all of its engineering in New Delhi, India. The move follows the complete shutdown of Urbanspoon in June, where the entire Urbanspoon website was removed from tthe Internet.
