Urbanspoon Acquired By Zomato

Seattle-based restaurant director Urbanspoon has been acquired by an Indian startup called Zomato, the two said today, to help Zomato expand into the US. Financial terms of the deal were not announced, but the deal is rumored to be worth between $50M to $60M. Zomato is venture backed by Sequoia Capital. Urbanspoon was owned by IAC. Zomato said Urbanspoon is "built on a solid foundation of exhaustive, rich local restaurant content" and will help it "turbocharge" its growth, particularly in the US, Canada, and Australia. Urbanspoon was acquired by IAC in 2009.
