Flywheel Drops Seattle Fare To $5
On-demand taxi ride application developer Flywheel is looking to gain some market share in Seattle, saying this week that it will offer $5, flat rate rides in the city as part of a promotion. Flywheel said the offer runs through April 6th. The company--which competes against Uber, Lyft, and others--said its service is better than the others because it gets riders from point A to point B without "waiting endlessly and going out of their way to share a ride with someone else" and does not have surge pricing. Flywheel uses licensed, local taxi companies, rather than independent contractors, to offer up its service.
