Farecast Launches Airfare Protection Service

Seattle-based Farecast has rolled out a new service, saying today that it has released Fare Guard, a new service that allows users to lock in the lowest fare on flights for up to seven days. The "Fare Guard" service allows users to lock in today's lowest fare, for up to one week, and will track fare changes to the flight. The firm will send a check to the user if the fare is increased during the period. Farecast is offering the new service for $3 per ticket until February. Farecast provides an online airfare prediction web site, and is funded by Greylock Partners, Madrona Venture Group and WRF Capital.
