Corvallis Arms Parking Police With Android Tablets
Uh oh. It looks like the city of Corvallis, Oregon is arming its meter readers with some high tech tools, tapping a company to provide a new Android parking product on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 tablets to help streamline taking down names and numbers. The city said it has moved to a new, Android parking product to manage downtown and residential on-street parking, using software from gtechna. The city said using the new software and tablets will let parking enforcement officers cover more ground during a shift, capture images in the field, and also move the technique of "chalking" to the digital age. Chalking is the method that parking enforcement officers typically use to mark a tire or auto with a subtle mark to figure out if cars have been parking too long in a particular part of town.
