Amazon.com Buys Twitch

Seattle-based Amazon.com said Monday afternoon that it has agreed to acquire Twitch Interactive, an online live video platform aimed at video gamers. Amazon.com said it will pay approximately $970M in cash for Twitch. Twitch operates an online community which lets gamers share tips and videos on videogames. Amazon said Twitch had more than 55 million unique visitors in July.
