Redfin Launches 3D Home Tours

Is a 3D, virtual home tour in your future? It might just be--thanks to Seattle's Redfin, which said this morning that it is rolling out 3D scanning technology which will convert home listings into high resolution, 3D online tours. The 3D tours come thanks to the adoption of 3D scanning technology from Matterport, whose products can be used to capture a 3D, 360 degree perspective on interiors of homes. Redfin said its new Redfin 3D Walkthrough feature is being rolled out for its agent-listed homes across the country, starting with homes in Seattle. The new technology lets users walk through a house, room-by-room, with a 360 degree perspective -- and even get a "top down" view of a floor plan layout and other visualizations of homes.
