Amazon To Handle Subscription Services Billing, Payments

Seattle-based Amazon.com is planning to enter into the subscription billing and payments market, according to a report today from Reuters, which says that the e-commerce giant hope to manage subscriptions for both startups and large companies. The new service would further pit Amazon against Ebay's payments arm, PayPal. Other details on the service--which apparently is already being tested with a number of online companies--have not yet been announced.
