Microsoft Pulls Plug On Windows XP Today
Still running Windows XP? You're now on your own, as Microsoft's deadline for migrating off the ancient operating system is today. Microsoft--which has been telling users for years that it will stop providing support for Windows XP as of April 8, 2014 (today)--is ending all automatic updates and security fixes for the venerable OS. Microsoft has told users that their computers will become "more vulnerable to security risks and viruses" as a result of the sunset of its support for XP. Microsoft has been looking to get users to upgrade their operating system to the Windows 8.1 or migrate to new PCs.
