Chirpify Raises $2M More For Social Payments
Portland-based Chirpify has $2M more in its pocket for advancing its social payments service, after a new investment from Voyager Capital. Chirpify said the initial, Series A close comes in addition to the $1.3M it raise earlier from Voyager, plus angels Geoff Entress, BuddyTV CEO Andy Liu, former Facebook executive Rudy Gadre, HootSuite CEO Ryan Holmes, and TiE Oregon Angels. As part of the funding announcement, Chirpify said it has added Puma, Lil Wayne, and Snoop Dogg as enterprise customers for its service. Chirpify's service lets users buy things directly from their social streams, such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram; the company's service has become popular with musicians and others to sell things like music tracks from their Twitter posts.
